Two Perspectives: Technology Practitioner and Business Owner

Over more than two decades working in information technology across multinational corporations and unicorn startups in e-commerce, fintech, digital banking, and logistics, I was trained to evaluate systems through architecture, infrastructure reliability, security, and scale.

However, when I began managing a premium durian orchard in 2020 and launched Cicip Durian retail operations in 2023, I experienced firsthand what it feels like to sit in the business owner’s chair: worrying about daily cash flow, product shrinkage, front-line staff discipline, and customer satisfaction every single day.

What Changes When You Are the User and Payer of Your Own System?

Running real-sector businesses taught me practical lessons that deeply influence how I design software and operational systems today:

  • Usability Beats Technical Complexity: For business owners and front-line staff, the best system is not the one with the trendiest architecture, it is the one that rarely breaks and is effortless to use during peak hours.
  • Software Cannot Replace Operational Discipline: Even the best application will produce garbage reports if receiving, weighing, and quality control rules are not followed on the floor.
  • Every Feature Must Justify Its Business Value: When you fund and use the software yourself, you become ruthless about priorities. You only build features that genuinely cut manual work, prevent stock or margin leaks, or speed up customer service.

Bringing This Grounded Approach to Your Business

This combination of enterprise IT operations depth and hands-on business ownership is the foundation of DennySpace. When speaking with business owners, operations teams, or founders, I am not interested in selling technology hype.

My goal is straightforward: understand how your business operates today, identify what is slowing your team down, and help you build practical, reliable solutions that deliver real operational value.
